1. Who may use RoomMatch
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to accept these terms. You must provide accurate information and use your own account. RoomMatch may restrict or remove accounts that do not meet these requirements.
2. What RoomMatch provides
RoomMatch helps students discover potential roommates, compare stated preferences, connect and communicate. It is not a landlord, estate agent, housing provider, guarantor, payment service or background-check service.
3. Matching and verification
Compatibility percentages are estimates based on profile answers and selected priorities. They are not guarantees of safety, identity, honesty or a successful living arrangement. A verification badge confirms only that RoomMatch approved the student-status check described beside it.
4. Your responsibilities
Keep your information reasonably accurate, protect access to your email account, verify people and properties independently, meet safely, and read any housing agreement before paying or committing. Never send deposits or sensitive documents merely because someone contacted you through RoomMatch.
5. Prohibited conduct
You may not harass, threaten, discriminate, impersonate, scam, spam, scrape profiles, misuse personal information, evade blocks, post illegal content, request inappropriate payments or documents, or use RoomMatch to harm another person.
6. Profiles, messages and reports
You keep ownership of content you submit. You give RoomMatch permission to store, process and display it only as needed to operate, secure and improve the service. Private messages are limited to the relevant connected users. Safety reports may be retained and reviewed for moderation and legal purposes.
7. Suspension and removal
RoomMatch may hide content, limit features, suspend or remove an account when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate a report, comply with law, or enforce these terms. Serious concerns may be referred to the appropriate authorities.
8. Service availability
RoomMatch may update, add or remove features and cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. Keep your own copy of important information and never rely on RoomMatch as an emergency service.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, RoomMatch is not responsible for user conduct, property accuracy, offline meetings or agreements made between users. Nothing here removes consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
